ALAskan Bushwheels

bUILT for landing off-field in the most rugged backcountry conditions.

Our dual piston brake calipers support almost all of the larger experimental tire sizes:

  • 26″ x 12″ x 6″
  • 29″ x 13″ x 6″
  • 31″ x 13″ x 6″

However, if those 31 incher’s just aren’t enough for the terrain you want to get to, we can also provide the 10″ x 6.5″ ABI wheel and brake assemblies required to handle those massive 35″ x 15″ x 10″ Alaskan Bushwheel’s.

Engines

Only the best from Barrett Precision Engines.

Backcountry Supercubs can provide your engine in 320, 360 and 400 cubic inch displacement variations of the Superior Air Parts XP Series power plants in kit form or as completed assemblies.

All engines mount on standard Type 1 or 2 Dynafocal or Conical mount types and can spin either Fixed Pitch or Constant Speed props.

slats

Reduce stall speeds by 30-50%.

Double-slotted flaps decrease an aircraft’s stall speed, but when deployed in short-field conditions it’s the decrease in takeoff and landing speeds that matters. That these flaps shave speed without increasing the plane’s deck angle on landing completes the picture:

Performance STOL flaps are the most effective STOL wing modification for Super Cubs and Cub-type experimentals operating in the backcountry.

The Backcountry Porter style Outrigger

  • Backcountry Supercub’s engineers are now in development of our advanced HTS (high travel suspension) package, a modified outrigger style of the Porter config. Offering you the use of a wider array of  Hub, Brake and Wheel configurations, this also opens up an increase in fuel and trim versatility. The genesis of this is our own experience in how to get into areas that may have been previously a bit to rowdy to attempt before. We look forward to offering them to you this Spring, 2017.
